OptoFidelity and PKC Electronics partnering in the quality assurance of touch display production

OptoFidelity and PKC Electronics have launched an automated test system in cooperation. By combining their testing and robotics know-how they developed Chameleon64™ test automation system. Chameleon64™ is a flexible and efficient test system for the quality assurance of touch display production.

This test system consists of the compact and versatile test platform Chameleon64™ by PKC integrated with the OptoFidelity Touch & Test® touch sensor testing technology. Measurement data acquisition of touch sensor and the analyzing of functionality are done with OptoFidelity Touch & Test® technology.

Also camera technology based OptoFidelity DIT™ for visual quality inspection, which is available as an option, has been developed by OptoFidelity. Camera technology with touch sensor integrated to display module enables the functionality testing of the entity.

According to OptoFidelity Sales Manager Tapio Koskinen this testing solution combines the key competences of both companies. “PKC Production Testing Powered by OptoFidelity Test Automation” describes well the nature of this cooperation. Jarmo Rajala, Managing Director of PKC Electronics, emphasizes that this cooperation creates remarkable synergy benefits for both companies, as customers can be provided with ready-made, turnkey solutions.

OptoFidelity and PKC Electronics have demonstrated this automated test system already in testing and automation events Nepcon Shanghai in April 2013 and Touch Taiwan in August 2013. The next event will be Productronica trade show in Munich, Germany, on November 12.-15.
