OptoFidelity and Korea Electronics Association Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Advance the AR/XR Ecosystem in Asia-Pacific
June 24, 2026 - Tampere, Finland / Seoul, South Korea - OptoFidelity is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Electronics Association (KEA), establishing a framework for long-term collaboration to support the advancement of the augmented reality (AR) and extended reality (XR) industry across the Asia-Pacific region. The agreement was signed by Hans Kuosmanen, CEO of OptoFidelity, and representatives of KEA, marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating innovation, strengthening technical capabilities, and fostering closer cooperation within one of the world’s most dynamic AR/XR ecosystems.
Under the MOU, OptoFidelity and KEA intend to explore collaboration in several strategic areas, including:
- Developing a long-term technology and service collaboration roadmap
- Supporting Korea’s AR/XR Verification Center through optical metrology expertise and engineering collaboration
- Exploring third-party certification services for AR/XR devices and components
- Evaluating opportunities to establish education and training initiatives serving the Asia-Pacific region
- Collaborating with ScreenCouples Co., Ltd., OptoFidelity’s local distributor in South Korea, to support implementation of mutually agreed activities
This Memorandum of Understanding further strengthens OptoFidelity’s long-standing presence in South Korea, where the company has worked closely with many of the country’s leading technology innovators, including Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor Company, LG Electronics, SK hynix, and LetinAR, several of which are existing OptoFidelity customers. Through these collaborations, OptoFidelity has supported the development and validation of advanced technologies across consumer electronics, automotive, semiconductors, and AR/XR applications, establishing a strong foundation for expanding its contribution to the Korean innovation ecosystem.

As a global leader in optical metrology and automated testing solutions, OptoFidelity brings decades of expertise in measuring and validating advanced optical systems, including AR displays, waveguides, light engines, cameras, and imaging devices. Through this collaboration, the company intends to contribute its measurement technologies and application knowledge to help strengthen testing capabilities, promote industry best practices, and support the continued growth of the AR/XR ecosystem in Korea and throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

The MOU establishes a three-year framework for cooperation and provides the basis for future technical projects and initiatives that may be developed through separate agreements between the parties.
