Samsung- A Remote Test Lab for Samsung's Home Appliances ![](https://www.optofidelity.com/hs-fs/hubfs/2-1.png?width=959&name=2-1.png) References # Samsung- A Remote Test Lab for Samsung's Home Appliances OptoFidelity and Samsung Research join forces in developing Samsung Electronics’ R&D testing of selected smart devices and home appliance product lines. OptoFidelity delivered a test solution based on the OptoFidelity TOUCH display test system platform in December 2019. It will help Samsung to automatically test and further develop its line of Samsung Electronics products. Samsung Research selected OptoFidelity’s test systems due to proven product accuracy and their good reputation among other smart device manufacturers. The robot-assisted remote test lab provided by OptoFidelity is suitable for testing a home appliance supported by Samsung SmartThings IOT service. ## Application developers get remote access to devices through robot-assisted test solutions OptoFidelity TOUCH is an automated test system for testing chipsets, touch panels, touch-enabled user interfaces, final products, and systems. Testing and measuring touch performance is essential to guarantee the functionality and quality of touch-enabled smart devices. “Designing a remote test lab for Samsung’s product was exceptionally interesting. Testing IOT applications requires access to a large number of physical devices, and our robot-assisted test solutions provide application developers remote access to physical devices and therefore enable the verification of the applications’ functional performance and interoperability across multiple devices. With the help of the test lab built for Samsung Research, it is now possible to remotely operate and test touch displays of a home appliance product,” says Pertti Aimonen, CEO of OptoFidelity 2020. ## User-interface testing has become an integral part of home appliance development Touchscreen is a vital component of today’s consumer electronics – in addition to smart devices, they are increasingly used in white goods. Among other things, OptoFidelity’s test system configuration enables its users to write and automatically run a wide range of functional touch display User Interface (UI) test cases such as text recognition (OCR) and icon detection. “Samsung is truly revolutionizing the home appliance market with its innovations, and we are honored to be a part of the company’s R&D operations and testing.
